 Key Achievements

  • SAP Program Implementation Director for Vodafone Global. Largest SAP Business Transformation Globalisation Program ongoing. SAP scope of implementation was Finance, Supply Chain and HR. Also included was BI, Xi, ESS/MSS and MDM. Overall program budget was €500 million. Individual Operating Company rollout budgets ranged from €100 million to €20 million:
    • Setup Global Program Office and managed the original design of the Global Blueprint, before moving into the Operating Companies to drive the implementation locally.
    • Implemented a Central Procurement company in Luxembourg and a Shared Services Organisation in Budapest, Hungary and more recently Pune, India.
    • Managed onshore and offshore SAP teams, including central Vodafone staff (process leads, Global Design Authorities, Process Governance Teams) as well as the SI delivery partners. Role included all business transformation and SAP delivery responsibilities. SI delivery partners were Accenture, HCL-Axon, IBM, SAP and CAS (Data Migration company).
    • Program Delivery Manager, Vodafone Global. Implemented Sonynet Services Music offering, a revolutionary €20 million development project. Music offering encompassed delivery of 1 million tracks to mobile handsets and PC’s seamlessly and a “Radio DJ” service, enabling users to personalise radio stations to their own tastes.
    • Responsible for delivery, testing, vendor management, deployment and launch in 12 major Operating Companies globally through 2005/2006
    • Responsible for internal team of 15 direct reports (PMs, Architects, Integration Specialists) and a virtual Vodafone team of 100 and vendor management of SonyNet Services.
  • IT Program Manager for BT: Accountable for developing a program plan, journey plan and budget tracking tool for the Transformation Program, (creating a modernised organisation of 15,000 BT IT staff)
    • Rectified bad practices and put BT’s critical Mobile Office project back on track in a short timescale
    • Achieved BS15000/ ITIL compliance for the NHS program for One IT, supporting the BT C&SI certification, by driving issues resolution through senior management
  • Head of Project Management, Product Integration Hutchison 3G. Responsible for delivering a range of products for launch, including the most advanced Unified Messaging platform in the world, browser-based products (J2EE / Weblogic / Oracle / Tibco), security, gateway services, games, content management and distribution, location-enabled services, alerts, IT voice and video and several Java-based mobile handset products:
    • Delivered all systems on time and to budget to seven countries, and managed requirements and delivery into different environments and cultures, and successfully managed multiple vendors
    • Managed 15 Project Managers, a software development budget of £25M and an infrastructure budget of £50M; liaised with a range of internal departments, including Core Networks, Marketing, Finance, Legal and Procurement
  • Head of IT Strategy (Contract), AT&T Europe. Developed a full IT strategy for AT&T UK, incorporating Unisource JV (Europe), for all BSS and some OSS systems, covering customer care, billing, provisioning, fault management and order handling to support the roll-out of new products, services and network elements:
    • Successfully managed budgets to stay below remit of $50m for annual IT spend on BSS and OSS systems
