Key Achievements
- End to end delivery of the new Internet Banking system for Commonwealth Bank of Australia. This was a two year Program managing dozens of suppliers including IBM, EDS, Siebel, Sun, and TCNZA. This Program was a major part of the Which New Bank initiative and my weekly reporting was directly to the Head of Retail Bank. Acknowledged as one of the most complex Programs in Australia and using nearly 1000 staff over the two years, it was delivered to a very high level of quality and client satisfaction. CBA, EDS and IBM references are all available.
- Turnaround and delivery of a major NetBank release for EDS and CBA. I joined a troubled program, to review its viability and was subsequently appointed as the EDS Program Director. The Program had over 80 project staff and was delivered two weeks ahead of my commitment and to a very high level of quality. This major release allowed CBA to regain leadership of the Internet Banking market from Westpac, within two months of implementation. Both EDS and CBA References are available.
- Appointment to a similar review and rescue role for EDS on eNABLE, the fourth distinct attempt by CBA at implementing the largest voucher imaging and processing system in the Southern Hemisphere. The Program was delivered a month ahead of my commitments, under budget and to a very high standard of quality. This Program involved the management of a number of external providers and over 120 project staff. The challenges on this Program included the replacement of a key provider, the use of untried technology and contractual issues. The total Program budget exceeded AUS$60m. Both EDS and CBA References are available.
- Successful delivery of a wide variety of Programs for Blue Chip Clients incl Credit Card Scoring for CBA, NetBank Third Factor Security Project initiation for CBA, Transition of the Cathay Pacific IT outsourcing from IBM for Unisys and the GST Program for Fairfax.
- 100% successful initiation, monitoring and delivery of IT Programs for Woolworths, P&O, Unisys, Tenix and Transfield groups among others. The Woolworths budget alone was Aus$50m covering 14 distinct companies within the group. References available for all companies.
