 Key Achievements

  • Successful implementation of a new organisational design and operational model for the Supply Chain Management (SCM) function of EDS in Asia Pacific. This involved working with stakeholders and sponsors to determine expectations and requirements of the new organisation and target improvement metrics; design of the overall organisation and new positions; assessing existing team against new roles and executing redundancies; recruitment of new team members; design and implementation of the new Supply Chain processes; implementation of the process to track achievement of benefits, and communication with executive stakeholders and sponsors. The end results were significantly improved alignment between SCM and the accounts and delivery units; improved customer satisfaction from the account teams, and an improved SCM team focus on their contribution to bottom-line savings. In excess of $15M in traceable, bottom-line savings were generated for 2007 alone, exceeding the agreed target.
  • Managed the EDS Workplace Services (i.e Desktop) Transformation Program, a strategic regional initiative aimed at improving delivery and strengthening the business value of EDS’ Workplace Services business ahead of the CBA re-compete. The program designed and implemented new performance targets (service levels), improved the organisational structure (800 – 1000 people are involved in delivery of this business), and implemented redesigned business processes and new technology tools - across client accounts in Asia Pacific. Led a team of program / project managers, process and six sigma consultants, and technical subject matter experts. New, aggressive service level targets for the CBA client were introduced and achieved within 6 months of implementation. Simultaneously, the cost of delivering services across accounts was reduced by improvement of delivery processes and re-alignment of teams and service delivery locations. EDS subsequently won the CBA re-compete for Desktop Services.
  • As Program Director of the eQuip program for HM Prison Service, successfully delivered new infrastructure (the first refresh under EDS’ contract with HMPS) to the Prison Service, resulting in the first consistent technology environment across the prisons and HQ offices. This program included delivery of standardised desktop and telephony infrastructure across the high security environment of HM Prison Service, rolling out new WAN and LAN capabilities, installing 19,000 desktops in more than 140 remote sites and HQ locations (including the supporting server infrastructure), implementing new telephony capabilities at all these sites, providing training and communications to 40,000 users, and migrating 200+ applications. Program budget exceeded A$100M, and the team size exceeded 200.
  • Successfully delivered General Motors Europe’s European Monetary Union (EMU) Program, which involved preparing the European operations of GME for the introduction of the single European currency, the Euro. Led the delivery of all services provided by EDS, including IT strategy development, implementation planning, program management and execution of the systems changes. Program scope was in excess of 500 systems, both package and custom-developed, across a broad range of platforms in 12 countries. Program budget exceeded $30M. The role included responsibility for the initial sale (and add-on business), development of the client’s IT strategy for EMU, development of the EDS service offerings to achieve this strategy, negotiation of the pricing and contract with the client, delivery accountability for all aspects of the program and management of the client relationship. Exceeded program revenue and profitability targets, implemented all phases of the program to meet the client’s EMU strategy, with no adverse business issues during the implementation of changes.
