 Key Achievements

  • Optus Integrated Data Warehouse (IDW) – the challenge was to address the declining reliance by Optus businesses on information from the Integrated Data Warehouse (IDW), due to poor data quality; timeliness, completeness and accuracy of information. This challenge gave rise to two strategic programs totalling more than $13M. One program was to address the infrastructure of the IDW; the systems and operational performance of the platform. The other was to address the information architecture to meet the current and future technology convergence and service commoditisation. Acknowledge as one of the most successful programs within the Optus IT portfolio.
  • Turn around and delivery of CBA Foreign Exchange security program. This program involved an FX upgrade, security “lockdown” and integration. The project involved various businesses, third parties and infrastructure teams. The program had issues with non defined requirements, scopes and was behind schedule. These were overcome through close monitoring and control of program, team members and stakeholder management. The program was completed successfully meeting the board’s commitment.
  • CBA PeopleSoft Financial data warehouse and reporting project - The Bank had a reporting need and had implemented a program to change the Financial and HR systems. My responsibility was to manage to build the “Financial Data Warehouse” and to implement the end to end data flow of information from the PeopleSoft general ledger and HR system to the Financial Data Warehouse to the OLAP (Hyperion Essbase) environment and out to a front end reporting tool (Hyperion). This was implemented successfully on time and budget.
  • Qantas Finance Data Warehouse (FDW) Reporting Project. The analysis phase objectives were to define the scope of the FDW and reporting requirements and to produce a business case for the subsequent phase in line with the Qantas methodology. This involved the development of end to end solution for extracting data from an Oracle ERP system to FDW and to the OLAP and reporting layers. The project involved multiple stakeholder management from business, IT and vendors.
  • Boral Sales and distribution Data Warehouse and Cognos cubes Migration Project - This DW system consist of three separate Data Warehouses; C&C, Plasterboard and Timber. These systems were aging and required upgrades at the hardware, platform, data base and reporting level.
  • Successfully set up the Project Management Office and support systems in compliance with international defence standards for “Earned Value Performance Management - EVPM” resulting in Thales becoming the Australian Defence preferred supplier.
