  • Mark has 12 years Information Technology experience and over 10 years in Program and Operations Management delivering technology-focused solutions. Mark is recognized by his clients for his unwavering focus on quality delivery and his relentless commitment to get the job done.
  • Having worked with major corporations on projects or in a consultancy basis across Europe, North America, Asia and Australia regions, his skills extend across multiple industries, geographies and ways of working.
  • Experienced in managing large and complex IT projects regularly with direct responsibility for budgets of >$20M. Mark has the ability to build stakeholder relationships and trust at key levels within the project team.
  • Mark has extensive Senior Management experience implementing and reporting on a diverse range of large-scale Infrastructure solutions including Large Scale Infrastructure builds, including Disaster Recovery, Data Centre Fit-Outs, Storage Builds, Network Builds, Data Centre Operational Management, Vendor Management and Service Management.
  • Extensive experience managing multi-skilled teams of up to 25 people, as well as 3rd party delivery teams.
  • Accredited Program Manager Professional - APMP, PRINCE2 Foundation & Practitioner, Design & Build Project Management Accreditation, ITIL

 Key Achievements

  • Led the Network Engineering Team within Full Tilt Poker.com. This consisted of project and operational responsibility across the Network, Windows Server, Linux Server, Infrastructure and Data Centre teams. This team was responsible for the delivery of >120 Infrastructure Projects ongoing at any one time. This also involved operational responsibility for >2000 servers. The underlying infrastructure of the game – Hardware, Data Centre and Network - required 100% uptime.
  • Managed a Production Move Infrastructure Project for a global brand that involved the replication of a client’s production hardware to a green field site over 5000 km away with no downtime and no issues. This project consisted of moving >80 racks of kit - Network, Server, Cabling and Storage Infrastructure. I was tasked with the implementation of this project. Responsibilities included resource management, up to 50 external and internal resources, project scheduling, third party vendor negotiation and management and daily Executive reporting.
  • Managed the provisioning, evaluation and selection of a number of Data Centre and bandwidth agreements throughout EMEA, North America and Asia Pacific Region, representing space for >250 racks spaces for a large global brand. The overall budget was $50million over a 5 year period.
  • Project managed a pan-European Virtual Private Network rollout to all BMW car dealerships across the UK and Ireland consisting of 180+ dealers with a budget of >$8 million. This project involved numerous vendors to manage as well as disparate resource and moving parts. Daily reporting into the CIO of BMW UK for the duration of these activities.
  • Ownership of annual IT procurement budgets of >$8m and vendor management of all hardware suppliers including HP, Cisco, Juniper, F5, EMC & Microsoft.
  • Managed the outsourcing program responsible for the migration of a number of clients pro-active alarming and network management to move under British Telecom (BT) Managed Support. Clients included Computer Science Corporation (CSC), National Health Service (NHS), European Central Bank, Dupont, Motorola and Bombardier amongst others. These projects were part of a $400 million outsouring agreement BT signed with HP.
  • Project Manager for the successful delivery of the NHS Infrastructure Rollout which was part of the NHS Transformation Program – which at the time was the largest IT Project operating in the World. I was responsible for the project management and delivery of a phase of infrastructure that underpinned the Program. This was rolling out hardware to >500 sites across the UK. I was responsible for a team of 14 working on this project. Responsibilities included resource management, project scheduling, third party vendor negotiation and management, and business liaison. Through the consistent timely delivery of this infrastructure, I was given subsequent phases of this Program.
