Key Achievements:

  • Program Director for Fiserv with responsibility to manage and deliver Phase 4 deployment of the New Payments Platform Addressing Service for Fiserv’s major client. Martin had accountability for all program activity including governance, cross functional team management including Application, Infrastructure, Security, and Support.
  • As a Program Manager for Westpac, Martin was responsible for managing the deployment of a Core Banking Solution and Payments Hub for Westpac Asia, as part of this:
    • Martin held accountability to deliver the high-profile Core Banking solution for Singapore and Hong Kong and included managing the MAS and HKMA regulators to meet with all regulatory and compliance requirements.
    • Managed the delivery of a Payments Hub for Singapore, Hong Kong, and India. The Hub processed high value payments and integrated to local payment schemes such as NEFT and MEPS+.
  • As a Program Director for Oracle, Martin provided thought leadership, then successfully managed and delivered the deployment of Oracle’s Core Banking solution for Suncorp’s Banking Platform Program with a budget of $50M AUD. The Program implemented two critical Phase 1 initiatives within a highly aggressive time frame of 8 months.
  • Engaged as a Subject Matter Expert by NAB to work on the bank’s Payment Transformation Program. Martin conducted detailed analysis of the Bank’s ‘as is’ payments environment and provided and designed & defined the ‘to be’ payments environment. This included adoption of a Service Oriented Architecture, a phased delivery approach, and process for legacy systems decoupling. Martin further assisted in the development of the Payments Target Operating Model.
  • As a Program Director for Westpac, initiated the Payments Transformation Program which had the primary objective of performing payments convergence between low and high value payments. As part of this, Martin delivered the implementation of the Payments Hub 1 Program with a budget of $35MAUD and a team of 80FTE. This replaced Westpac’s legacy systems for SWIFT payments with a single Payments Hub for all Westpac geographies. It also included replacing the Mint application with SWIFT Alliance Access for SWIFT connectivity.
  • For Commonwealth Bank, as a Technical Program Manager delivered the Business Facility Document (BFD) for the bank’s Commercial Lending Program. Martin managed all technical delivery for the initiative and had accountability for the DSA and TCNZA deliverables, vendor management, and network capacity utilisation management.
  • For Commonwealth Bank, had key responsibility for designing and developing the SWIFT IP Net Solution. The final solution had to comply with domestic and foreign currency processing standards including SWIFT, Austraclear, RTGS and Standard Settlement Instructions (SSI).
  • As a Project Manager for Commonwealth Bank, successfully managed and delivered the Institutional Banking Transaction Services project. Martin had responsibility for all technical delivery including managing a hosted B2C and B2B Electronic Billing Presentment and Payment project, and a critical upgrade of the Payment and Messaging system to a new software version.
  • As a Senior Project Manager for EDS, managed the application development of Release 1 of the ecommcorporate program for Commonwealth Bank. The ecommcorporate program allowed the Commonwealth Bank to offer the Internet as an extra secure channel for Institutional Banking products and services.
