Gyani Lal is a highly experienced Program Manager. Key Achievements:

  • For Argo London, as the Program Director for the RMS Transition Program, Managed the transition of risk modelling to the RMS platform for Argo including a bespoke web based work flow driven modelling solution to simplify the complexity of catastrophe modelling delivering three-year business case benefits of over £6m in a very challenging environment. Gyani successfully delivered the program on time and under budget with a multi-discipline team of actuaries, capital modelers, loss modelers, underwriting and IT resources
  • For Victory Solutions Limited, Gyani provided technical guidance to stablish a cloud-based integrated portal solution that ties process workflow, data manipulation, query and storage with audit-ability, governance and control for pricing, bordereaux, Solvency II and actuarial support.
  • For AXIS Group, as a Senior Project Manager, Managed Solvency II compliance readiness for critical systems and data; delivering the data directory, data deficiency analysis, audit and rectification plans and the supporting solutions. In addition, Gyani replaced the catastrophe risk accumulation and reporting solution and decommissioned a highly complex legacy system.
  • For Room, As a Program Manager, Gyani successfully delivered the £10+m core insurance program in an onshore-offshore model for Room-NIIT for Amlin’s operations in Belgium and Netherlands based on Room’s Subscribe solution. Gyani had end to end responsibility for the program which encompassed study phase, analysis, customization scope, testing, client acceptance and data migration/conversion through to stakeholder and client relationship management. He also led the project team of 75+ in an onshore-offshore model with the Delhi based dev center.
  • For Harvey Norman, as a Senior Project Manager, successfully delivered the Enterprise Integration / Data Hub Program. This included the £1.8m build and deployment of ESB integration with Websphere MessageBroker/MQ. Gyani was engaged to turn around the project after the out-sourced external vendor failed to deliver.
  • For QBE, as a Program Manager, successfully delivered the £16+m Claims BPR for the Insurer covering imaging, workflow, automation, legacy integration, agile (scrum-based) development and implementation of Guidewire ClaimCenter. Gyani was charged with turning around a high troubled program following major cost and budget over-runs and vendor-client dispute. He was able to stabilize the program by instituting governance controls, re-baselining cost schedules, and mitigating key commercial, infrastructure, and architectural risks.
  • For Bupa, as a Business Project Manager for Business Change and Architecture Groups, managed common services, workflow, imaging, document management and security functionality, for BUPA’s £125m bespoke development replacing core legacy applications.
  • For Zurich Group, implemented business critical initiatives across the Enterprise, including the mergers with GRE and N&G Insurance, regulatory compliance changes and financial re-engineering.
  • For Zurich Group, project managed the data warehouse (Oracle) design and development. This included ETL, and development & implementation of a multi-dimensional online BI solution.
  • For Zurich Group, managed the implementation of a complex Oracle Financials solution for the Corporate General Ledger. This included designing and developing the integration interfaces from legacy cobol tx-applications.
