Scott Hutchinson is an experienced Program Director joining Seven Consulting’s Sydney Practice in August 2018. He has worked extensively on delivering large scale, complex programs of work, with multiple vendors and solutions.
He has led a number of large programs in areas such as Financial Services, Telecommunications, Government and Distribution industries. Scott’s core expertise focuses on large consulting and transformation programs with complex system integration including delivery of enterprise ERP programs. Prior to joining Seven Consulting, Scott was the Transformation and System Integration Partner at IBM and has held lead roles with sales and delivery and practice building across IBM, PwC, SAP Australia and Accenture.

As Program Director at BNP Paribas, Scott led delivery for large complex transition project for a global capital market client over 4 months. This was a complex program involving data migration, custody migration and process redesign to on board a new client. This was a delivery program involving both local and global delivery teams with over 60 FTE.
As Program Director at Woolworths, Scott provided advisory services for program management planning to Woolworths across 2 major programs – a data privacy program initiation and a supply chain inventory availability program. The outcomes shaped the respective program structures, approaches and plans and recommendations were made to the client C level.
As the lead for a portfolio of accounts in financial services at IBM, Scott was leading the selling and delivery of e-signature (Digital Acceptance) as a service on IBM cloud. This service was built by Scott’s team with over 4 years of development and is a market leading solution as a service in cloud solution. The solution based on Agile deployment approaches, has had major success in a big 4 Australian bank with growing sales into other financial services clients in Australia plus interest overseas. In taking this to market, IBM has an ongoing campaign of press, industry and analyst briefings.
As IBM Engagement Lead at Westpac, Scott was the overall IBM Engagement Lead for the application outsource contract. This role entailed running a AUD $40M annual revenue portfolio with 450 delivery resources (both onshore and offshore) supporting applications, new projects and development work across credit cards/payments, workflow/imaging and core banking.
As Large Projects Transformation Lead at Westpac, Scott was a leader in the IBM executive team for Westpac, Scott and his team drove a major growth deal for IBM in December 2015 with the signing of a AUD $450M contract over 5 years. The deal resulted in driving a number of strategic transformation complex system integration programs for IBM on IBM cloud. Under Scott’s leadership, blended Agile/waterfall delivery approaches were used across a series of key programs – application migration (set up as a factory), content management as a service, big data as a service and also Digital Acceptance. The Digital Acceptance solution for loans/ mortgages as a service on cloud, is unique in the market and has received industry award nominations.
As IBM Delivery Engagement Lead at Westpac, Scott also took on the IBM delivery engagement lead for the integrated Risk/Compliance project, which was a AUD $40M project for Westpac. The IBM delivery team in ANZ also extended to Westpac NZ, where Scott’s team delivered a complex program using Watson technology to optimise Internet banking customer queries under a variable solution as a service commercial model.
As Complex System Integration Lead/Solution Partner Lead At INPEX/Chevron, Scott led 2 large scale transformation/system integration engagements for the greenfield LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) operations in Western Australia. These programs were strategic 5-year complex system integration programs with over 30 vendors ranging from ERP, DCS and operational systems – the design/build budgets were AUD $200M plus for 4 years taking these clients to First to Gas. Under Scott’s lead, these deals brought AUD $100M in sales to IBM in 2012 – 2013. Scott took the lead setting up these programs and undertook complex SI delivery assurance roles throughout the program, whilst driving the ongoing program of work.
As Project Delivery Lead at Telstra Columbus, Scott was a key member of the IBM senior engagement advisory team to the Telstra Columbus team providing advice/direction on the program set up and system integration for the NBN separation/integration program with a AUD $1BN planned portfolio spend.
As the Testing/Outsource Program Lead at ANZ Bank, Scott led the IBM consulting engagement across ANZ Bank to a 3-year deal and delivering an engagement to build the process/tooling roadmap for the banks future IT delivery services program.
As the IBM Solution/Sales team lead at NBN, Scott led the IBM team advising ANZ Bank on their transformation program. This included a review of the ANZ Bank merger with New Zealand National Bank (in New Zealand), extending for the OSS/BSS NBN deal over 9 months, which signed with IBM at AUD $150M. The deal comprised 6 streams – Prime Integrator, Billing, Assurance (Tivoli and Remedy), Fulfilment and Logical Inventory (Comptel) and Physical Inventory, Integration (B2B).
As the IBM Solution/Sales team lead at Westpac, Scott’s team led the on-going integration services (integration factory) plus services required to re-build the teller application.
As Project Delivery Executive at ASEAN, Scott led major Telecommunication projects. The GTEL project in Vietnam was a complex multi-vendor delivery contract (AUD$ 30M) with over 150 resources. The project was a complete transformation – end to end business process best practice, new data centre, and applications – Comverse Telco Billing/Self-care product. The scope was BSS, prepaid, and post-paid – the GTEL project remains one of the fastest deployments of pre-paid achieved globally. On the MAXIS Transformation Program (Malaysia) – Mobile Telecommunication, Scott’s team delivered the transformation of the MAXIS business: including CRM (enhanced customer experience), OPEX reduction and system simplification as part of an overall outsource deal over 5 years.
As Financial Services Lead at ASEAN, Scott led the FSS and SI practice (over 100 consultants). Scott’s team positioned a Core Banking 5-year transformation deal with Maybank signed in 2011 (multi global vendor) as well as leading the business intelligence strategy at Maybank. Other work included building the enterprise services bus at the RHB client and data warehouse work at CIMB.
As Release 2 Program lead at Telstra on the BigPond Transformation Program, Scott managed a team of over 100 resources on this AUD $70M program, delivering complex process re-design and system integration from BigPond legacy systems into the core strategic Siebel and Kenan systems.
As IBM engagement Partner at Telstra on the BSS and OSS Data Migration Program, Scott led the data transformation component of the data migration for the BSS program. The overall data migration budget exceeded AUD $100M budget (AUD $40M budget for IBM). IBM drove the strategic direction and required process for data migration across both the BSS and OSS transformation programs.
This was one of the largest data migration projects executed globally by IBM.
As Technology Lead at a Global Airline Company on the Enterprise Oracle ERP deployment across HR, finance and logistics, Scott ran 2 programs of work. The first Program had a $ 100M budget and there were over 50 resources in the technology team. Scott then ran an Enterprise Transformation Security project where he was the engagement partner. This program delivered streamlined security, including providing process redesign, changes to security policy, enhanced user provisioning, reduced sign on and authorisation infrastructure replacing much of the disparate security architectures currently in place. Project size was AUD $35M.
As Program Lead at Telstra, Scott led major programs of works across HR/payroll. Financials and logistics over 3 years. This was one of the largest deployments of SAP R/3 at that time.
As Project Manager at Arnott’s, Scott delivered an enterprise B2B integration connecting the suppliers with the Arnott’s warehouse order, replenishment and distribution systems.
As Project Manager at Accenture, Scott undertook 6 years of ERP delivery work. The first part was implementing financials systems into a major queensland government department. The second part was implementing a new logistics and financial system into a logistics federal government as part of a broader program to commercialize their nationwide warehouse and distribution operations.
