Key Achievements:
As a Graduate at Seven Consulting, Simon is completing the Graduate program which is designed to enhance the core Project Management skills amongst people who are experienced in their individual professional fields. During the Graduate program, Simon is gaining theoretical and practical knowledge on different aspects of project management by going through different sessions and exercises with domain experts. This program is developing his skills and confidence level in using PM tools (like MS Project, JIRA etc), techniques and soft skills. Simon will also get the opportunity to work shadow senior consultants in actual project environments where he will be exposed to risk, issues, and constraints on a project and better ways to manage them.
As an athlete, Simon was able to get full scholarships to universities in the United States where he pursued his undergraduate and graduate studies whilst he played football (soccer) at the NCAA Division 1 level. These scholarships gave him the opportunity to combine studying while training and playing football full-time. Simon was part of the New Zealand U17 Training Squad that qualified for the FIFA U17 Men’s World Cup in Chile in 2015. Upon returning to New Zealand, where Simon completed his undergraduate degree, Simon played for Canterbury United in the New Zealand ISPS Handa Premiership, the national football league, prior to commencing his working-career. Simon is looking forward to applying the skills gained from competing at a high-level in sport and applying them to the project management profession.
