As the Acting Release Train Engineer at AMP, Sobin conducted the Program Increment (PI) planning workshop / Big room planning for the Employee & Contact Centre Experience (ECCE) portfolio. Aligning with a wide range of stakeholders from Head of Technology, Sponsor, Product Owners, Architects, Scrum Masters, Business Analysts & Squad members, he led the essential steps & activities required for the PI planning event. The activities included setting an agenda for the event, prioritisation of features, scrum of scrums, business & architecture overview, leadership updates and squad planning sessions & outcome presentations across five squads. The delivery progression journey and outcome matrix for Q1 2022 was mapped from the PI planning event highlighting the anticipated risks & dependencies. Involving the team members into the journey by gaining their suggestions & inputs, he created an easy to adopt PI framework reducing redundant efforts & giving onus to planning outcome. He conducted the Scrum of Scrum events, assisted the team to close action items, RAID forums and ensuring that the progression moves forward in alignment with the plans made or arrange the needful to accommodate changes understanding the business value and delivery. He also ensured the completion of the Statement of Work (SoW) and Proof of Concept (POC) testing for one of the initiatives under the Program.
As Agile Delivery Leader & SAFe Scrum Master at Westpac, Sobin was responsible for the delivery of Merchant Digital Platform (Yearly 17M initiative). He interacted with Portfolio Director, Service Owner, Business Product Owner and Program Manager in defining the roadmap and strategy for the initiative. He was the Scrum master for two squads in the Merchant Payments Agile Release Train. Sobin established the execution of Agile methodology and Scrum framework practice for the team and took the initiative to deliver Minimum viable product and assist Program increment / Big room planning events. He also collaborated with the Agile coaches to introduce / execute Scaled Agile Framework and implemented release journeys & production rollouts following CI/CD patterns. He worked as the acting Agile coach to lead the team and provide clarity on Agile concepts and benefits. He was the Scrum master for two squads in the NPP portfolio. Sobin collaborated on Business discovery, product backlog, prioritisation, WSJF, delivery pipelines, facilitated the Phase 1 rollout of the PDS initiative under NPP program, presented the Jira reports and monthly end status reports for the Scrum teams, and established a team culture of inclusion, transparency and involvement.
