Steve is a skilled Program Director, joining Seven Consulting’s Sydney Practice in 2007. He has a demonstrated track record of delivering large scale Programs to schedule, within budget and to a high quality; with particular experience managing Transition and Transformation projects.
Steve has a demonstrated ability to establish & build strong relationships between Clients & Suppliers, aligning all stakeholders to achieve a common objective. Further developing the skills of team members through focused mentoring.
He has 40 years’ experience in IT, ranging from Programmer, Systems Analyst, Senior EDP Auditor, Project Manager, Program Manager and General Manager with 20 years’ experience as a Program Manager/Program Director.

As Project Director at HP Enterprise Services/DXC Technology, led a 2 year program to remediate operational issues around governance, risk and compliance. The key triggers to this program were a number of external audits of the supplier that identified compliance issues and risks. The project defined the remediation activities of audit findings at its core, however the scope extended to define an improved governance framework; to establish an improved mode of operations; to address EU Regulation on General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which became effective in May 2018; to address the Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme under the Australian Privacy Act which became effective in February 2018 and to address control failings for services relevant to Security, Availability, Confidentiality and Privacy identified through the System and Organisation Controls for Service Organisation (SOC 2) Audit.
As Program Director, undertook delivery assurance reviews for NAB Wealth and MLC Life. The objective of these reviews was for the consultant to provide an independent view on the level of confidence that the projects will deliver outputs and outcomes as defined in the Business Case.
As Program Director for Commonwealth Bank. Accountable for the delivery of the Runway Program that will transition the end user computing environment from Windows XP to Windows 8.1. Employees will receive modern workplace tools and an enhanced user experience through virtualised applications, as well as common collaboration tools and secure mobility solutions with the ability to access information from multiple devices. This will give employees the ability to work where they want, when they want and how they want, all within an enterprise-grade security framework. The program on completion in late 2016 will have deployed approximately 40,000 new laptops and desktops and approximately 6,000 virtual devices. The program budget was in excess of $100m with approximately 100 internal and external resources engaged.
As Transition Manager for Endeavour Energy. Endeavour Energy embarked on a multi sourcing strategy in December 2013. Over the following 9 months the team transitioned major applications from Endeavour Energy & CGI to TCS, Capgemini, WIPRO and LAN switches, WAN routers and Telephony from Optus & CGI to CSC. Transition activities included modifying ITIL processes and procedures to operate in a multi-vendor environment, developing vendor Operating Manuals, developing process flows to support a network services environment whereby multiple vendors operate alongside each other to deliver an end-to-end process and developing processes to support an on-shore/off-shore support model.
As Program Director for HP’s Regional Cards & Payments Utility. Accountable for delivery of all Innovation/Functional changes, Scheme Compliance Releases, Legislative changes, on-boarding of new clients and working with Sales and Product teams on new technical and functional solutions. Since HP setup the utility 6 years ago the business has tripled due to implementation of multiple projects including Scheme Debit, Amex Companion Card, rationalisation of Award Products, Pre-Paid Card, White Label programs, a Travel Money product and migration of an overseas Bank onto the Cards platform. HP implement 2 major Innovation/Functional releases and 2 Compliance release a year. At any point there could be up to 6 major projects in-flight. Responsibility covers all aspects of software development from concept through to implementation. There were up to 70 on-shore and 40 off-shore resources engaged.
As Cards Services Delivery Executive responsible for Service Delivery of all service and applications delivery work for EDS’s newly formed Regional Cards Utility (RCU), focusing on cost, schedule and quality of delivery. Oversee the RCU operations (which run 24×7), service delivery program and project managers to ensure that they meet their program/project requirements and ensures the integration of requirements from various service and application delivery project teams into a comprehensive solution for the client. Provide people care and direction for all direct reports with a focus on growing industry and capability knowledge and expertise of staff.
As Regional Applications Service Manager responsible for building a Cards Processing capability within the Australia Pacific Region for EDS. This project, which ran for 18 months, was a joint US and Australian development. Over a 100 local resources were involved in developing the software and standing up the infrastructure components.
As EDS Program Manager for the Commonwealth Bank’s Internet Banking System. This was a two year project involving IBM, Siebel, Sun, TCNZA, CBA and EDS. EDS was responsible for all Testing phases, Legacy Development, Infrastructure and Implementation. Over 150 EDS resources were involved in this project.
As Application Delivery Manager responsible for managing all Retail Banking Systems that EDS maintained on behalf of Commonwealth Bank. These systems included all core product and delivery systems. This portfolio comprised in excess of 160 systems and 250 staff located both on-shore and off-shore. At any one time there were in excess of 20 major projects underway. One major program during this period was the Home Loan Redevelopment Program. This program went from 2004 to 2006 and delivered 3 major implementations. To deliver the CBA’s initiatives the development team was increased from a core team of 8 to 38 made up of on-shore and off-shore resources. Major business functions implemented included migrating Personal Loans to the Home Loan System, Low Documentation Home Loans, enhanced interface to Transact (Home Loan Decision System) and interfacing to CBA’s CommSee desktop system.
As General Manager, Delivery & Relationship, EDS responsible for various CBA applications, including Data Warehouse, Workflow & Imaging and Documentation.
