About Matthew Knight

Matthew joined Seven Consulting’s Sydney team in January 2022 through the company’s Graduate Program. He has a Bachelor of Project Management and a Bachelor of Engineering Honours (Biomedical) from the University of Sydney. He is seeking to utilise his knowledge in Project Management and apply it in delivering successful projects.

Key Achievements:

As a PMO Graduate at Colonial First State, Matthew was responsible for the creation of a Jira and confluence platform for reporting and tracking of project progress. He worked closely with Senior Project and Program Managers to ensure correct governance was carried out, and facilitated RAID meetings, and steering committee meetings. Matthew worked closely with the technical business analysts creating meaningful outputs from large excel data sets and summarising this information to key stakeholders.

As Graduate at Seven Consulting, Matthew completed the Graduate program which is designed to enhance the core Project Management skills amongst the people who are experienced in their individual professional fields. During the Graduate program, he has gained theoretical and practical knowledge on different aspects of project management by going through different sessions and exercises with domain experts. This program has developed his skills and confidence level in using PM tools (like MS Project, JIRA etc), techniques and soft skills. Matthew also had the opportunity to work as shadow senior consultants in actual project environments where he has been exposed to risk, issues, and constraints on a project and better ways to manage them.

As a student at The University of Sydney, Matthew came 1st out of 102 students in Project Cost and Finance with a mark of 95%, 1st in Legal Aspects of Projects with a mark of 97% out of 83 students, and 3rd in Agile Project Management with a mark of 90%.

As a student at The University of Sydney, Matthew was placed on the Dean’s List of Excellence in Academic Performance averaging 86.7% in 2021.

As Manufacturing and Design Engineer, Matthew created a tool using excel to assess the manufacturing efficiency of COVID19 Respirators at CleanSpace Technology. Matthew then analysed this data and used it to suggest changes and improvements to the manufacturing line and equipment.

Attained a Certified Scrum Master Qualification through Scrum Alliance gaining an appreciation of Servant Leadership and its effectiveness as a management style.
